Homologous organs share ancestry/structure but differ in function (divergent evolution); analogous organs share function but differ in ancestry/structure (convergent evolution).

Homologous organs — organs that have the same basic structural design/developmental origin because they evolved from a common ancestor, but which have been adapted over time to perform different functions.
