Uses of dihydrogen

Dihydrogen's largest single industrial use is in manufacturing ammonia. It is also used to make vanaspati ghee by the catalytic hydrogenation of vegetable oils; as a rocket fuel in its liquefied form; in the bulk manufacture of important organic chemicals such as methanol, 2H2(g) + CO(g) →(cobalt catalyst) CH3OH(l); and in preparing hydrogen chloride (HCl) and various metal hydrides.
