- Maintaining the company's tripartite agreement. Ensuring the company enters into, and keeps current, its agreement with its Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA) and the depository, so that the company's securities remain eligible to be held and transferred electronically.
- Liaising with the RTA and depository. Coordinating with them so that dematerialisation and rematerialisation requests relating to the company's securities are processed correctly and without delay.
- Ensuring correct corporate-action credit. Making sure dividends, bonus shares, rights entitlements and interest on the company's securities are correctly and punctually credited to the right Beneficial Owners through the depository system, based on accurate records as of the relevant record date.
- Ensuring legal compliance. Seeing that the company's practices comply with the Depositories Act, 1996 and the SEBI (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 1996, and with any other applicable SEBI directions.
- Handling investor grievances. Acting as the point of escalation for shareholder complaints relating to their demat holdings of the company's securities — such as a delayed credit, an incorrect entry, or an unprocessed request — working with the RTA and DP to resolve them. …
