Avogadro's law: at the same temperature and pressure, equal volumes of any gas contain the same number of molecules, so volume is directly proportional to the number of moles.

Proposed by Amedeo Avogadro in 1811, this law states that for a given amount of gas at a fixed pressure and temperature, the volume is proportional to the number of moles (n) of the gas:

V ∝ n (at constant T and P), or V/n = constant.
