Carbanion = negatively charged C with a lone pair. NH3 donates its lone pair (nucleophile); BF3 accepts one (electrophile, incomplete octet).

Carbanion: a reactive intermediate in which a carbon atom carries a negative charge, having three bond pairs and one lone (unshared) pair of electrons on that carbon (general formula R3C:−R_3C:^-), typically sp3sp^3 hybridized with the lone pair occupying the fourth hybrid orbital.

Why NH3NH_3 is a nucleophile: the nitrogen atom in NH3NH_3 has one lone pair of electrons that is not involved in bonding. This lone pair can be donated to an electron-deficient (electrophilic) centre, so NH3NH_3 acts as an electron-pair donor — a nucleophile (Lewis base).
