Bohr radius is the radius of the innermost (n=1n=1) allowed orbit of the hydrogen atom in Bohr's model.

From Bohr's model, the radius of the nn-th orbit of hydrogen is

rn=4πε0n2ℏ2me2=n2a0r_n = \frac{4\pi\varepsilon_0 n^2\hbar^2}{m e^2} = n^2 a_0

where a0a_0 is the radius for n=1n=1, called the Bohr radius:

a0=4πε0ℏ2me2=0.529×10−10 m=0.529 A˚a_0 = \frac{4\pi\varepsilon_0 \hbar^2}{m e^2} = 0.529 \times 10^{-10}\,\text{m} = 0.529\ \text{Å}
