ZIFT is an assisted reproductive technique where an in-vitro-formed zygote/early embryo is placed into the woman's fallopian tube.

ZIFT stands for Zygote Intra-Fallopian Transfer. In this technique, ova and sperm are collected from the couple (or donors) and fertilization is carried out outside the body (in vitro), similar to the first step of IVF. Once a zygote is formed, or the embryo has developed up to the 8-blastomere stage, it is transferred into the fallopian tube (oviduct) of the female, where further development continues naturally as the embryo travels toward the uterus for implantation.
