Normality is concentration in equivalents/L, molarity is concentration in moles/L, and they are related by N=M×n-factorN=M\times n\text{-factor}.

Molarity (M) is defined as the number of moles of solute dissolved per litre of solution:

M=Number of moles of soluteVolume of solution (in litres)=w×1000Mw×V(mL)M = \frac{\text{Number of moles of solute}}{\text{Volume of solution (in litres)}} = \frac{w \times 1000}{M_w \times V(\text{mL})}

where ww is the mass of solute in grams and MwM_w is its molar mass.

Normality (N) is defined as the number of gram-equivalents of solute dissolved per litre of solution:

N=Number of gram-equivalents of soluteVolume of solution (in litres)=w×1000Ew×V(mL)N = \frac{\text{Number of gram-equivalents of solute}}{\text{Volume of solution (in litres)}} = \frac{w \times 1000}{E_w \times V(\text{mL})}

where EwE_w is the equivalent weight of the solute.
