Faraday's laws: (1) a change of magnetic flux induces an emf; (2) the induced emf equals the rate of change of flux, e = -N d(Phi)/dt.

Faraday's first law of electromagnetic induction:

Whenever the magnetic flux linked with a closed circuit changes, an electromotive force (emf) is induced in the circuit. The induced emf lasts only as long as the flux keeps changing.

Faraday's second law:

The magnitude of the induced emf is equal to the rate of change of magnetic flux linked with the circuit. For a coil of N turns,
