Starting from the pass book balance ₹50,000, add the un-credited deposits and the cheque recorded but not banked, and deduct the un-presented cheques.

Balance as per cash book = ₹47,800 (matches the NCERT key).

Treatment. Cheques deposited but not credited (₹7,000) had raised the cash book but not the passbook, so the cash book is higher — starting from the passbook we add. The cheque entered in the cash book but not banked (₹800) also makes the cash book higher — add. Cheques issued but not presented (₹10,000) had reduced the cash book but not the passbook, so we deduct to reach the cash book.
