Endurance is the ability to sustain activity, developed through three methods: Continuous (long, steady), Interval (high-intensity with partial recovery), and Repetition (near-maximal with full recovery).

Endurance is the ability of a person to maintain a certain level of energy production for an extended period — the ability to sustain an activity, measured by repetitions or time.

1. Continuous Method — an exercise done for a long time without any rest, so intensity stays low. Its sub-methods are: Slow Continuous (HR 140-160 bpm, ≥30 min; walking/running/cycling); Fast Continuous (HR 160-180 bpm, ≥20 min; improves VO2 max); Variable Pace (pre-planned pace changes, HR 140-180, 15-60 min); and Fartlek (unplanned, feeling/terrain-based pace changes — the Swedish "speed play" method).

2. Interval Method — the most versatile endurance method: high-intensity work raising heart rate to 180 bpm, followed by a short interval until heart rate drops to 120-130 bpm, then work resumes. Improves circulatory and aerobic capacity plus lactic-acid tolerance. …
