Sacrificing ratio is the ratio in which existing partners give up their share of profit for a newly admitted partner, and equals Old share − New share.

When a new partner is admitted into a firm, he acquires his share of profit from the existing partners. The portion each old partner gives up is his sacrifice, and the ratio of these sacrifices among the old partners is the sacrificing ratio.

Formula: Sacrificing ratio = Old profit-sharing ratio − New profit-sharing ratio.
