Given: consumption function C=100+0.8YC = 100 + 0.8Y and planned investment I=200I = 200 (₹ crore).

Step 1 — Write the equilibrium condition. In a two-sector economy, equilibrium income is where planned output equals planned expenditure:

Y=C+IY = C + I

Step 2 — Substitute the consumption function and investment.

Y=(100+0.8Y)+200=300+0.8YY = (100 + 0.8Y) + 200 = 300 + 0.8Y

Step 3 — Solve for Y.

Y−0.8Y=300  ⇒  0.2Y=300  ⇒  Y=3000.2=1,500 croreY - 0.8Y = 300 \;\Rightarrow\; 0.2Y = 300 \;\Rightarrow\; Y = \frac{300}{0.2} = 1{,}500 \text{ crore} …
