Part (a): GVAMP = Value of Output − Intermediate Consumption = 200 − 120 = ₹80 lakh (depreciation and net indirect taxes are not deducted for GVA at market price). Part (b): GNP deflator = (2500/3000)×100 = 83.33%; being below 100, the price level has fallen, not risen.

Gross Value Added at Market Price is measured by the product (value-added) method:

GVAMP=Value of Output−Intermediate Consumption\text{GVAMP} = \text{Value of Output} - \text{Intermediate Consumption}

Step 1 — Value of Output = Sales + Change in Stock. Sales here = Domestic Sales + Exports.

Value of Output=(200+10)+(−10)=210−10=₹200 lakh\text{Value of Output} = (200 + 10) + (-10) = 210 - 10 = ₹200\ \text{lakh}

Step 2 — Intermediate Consumption. "Single-Use Producer Goods" are goods used up in production during the year, i.e. intermediate consumption = ₹120 lakh.

Step 3 — GVAMP.

GVAMP=200−120=₹80 lakh\text{GVAMP} = 200 - 120 = ₹80\ \text{lakh}

Watch out

Depreciation (₹20 lakh) is subtracted only to move from gross to net, and Net Indirect Taxes (₹20 lakh) only to move from market price to factor cost. Since we need Gross value added at Market Price, neither is deducted. (For reference, NVA at factor cost would be 80 − 20 − 20 = ₹40 lakh.)
