Meaning: Adaptive physical education is a diversified programme of developmental activities, games, sports and rhythms suited to the interests, capacities and limitations of children who cannot safely or successfully take part in the unrestricted general physical-education programme.
Aim: to enable every child, regardless of ability, to participate safely, successfully and enjoyably in physical activity and gain its physical, mental and social benefits on an equal footing.
