Environmental Impact of Ozone Depletion

The formation and destruction of ozone is a regular natural process, which normally never disturbs the equilibrium level of ozone in the stratosphere. Any change in this equilibrium level of atmospheric ozone will adversely affect life in the biosphere, in the following ways:

  • Depletion of the ozone layer allows more UV rays to reach earth's surface; this can cause skin cancer, and also decreases the immunity level in human beings.
