EVALUATION

EVALUATION

The textbook's own end-of-chapter evaluation for Unit 13, testing material across alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and aromatic hydrocarbons through two question formats. Part I, 'Choose the Best Answer,' is a set of 30 multiple-choice questions -- several drawn directly from NEET papers -- spanning conformational analysis, the Wurtz/Kolbe/Grignard preparation routes, orbital-overlap theory, free-radical halogenation selectivity, optical activity, alkene/alkyne addition regiochemistry (Markovnikov's rule, the peroxide effect, ICl addition), ozonolysis, E/Z (cis/trans) nomenclature, aromaticity and planarity, Friedel-Crafts reactivity/selectivity, and directing-group strength. Part II, 'Write Brief Answer,' is a set of 20 short/long-answer questions (numbered 32 through 49 in the book, plus one question the book itself prints without a serial number) covering IUPAC nomenclature of polyfunctional chains, multi-step synthetic identification problems, reaction mechanisms …
