Royal jelly is a protein-rich secretion of worker bees' glands; feeding it continuously to a larva turns it into a queen bee.

Royal jelly is a creamy, milky-white substance secreted by the hypopharyngeal and mandibular glands of young worker (nurse) honeybees. It is extremely rich in proteins, amino acids, vitamins (especially B-complex), sugars and lipids.
