Zoology · Ch 3 — Reproductive Health
Introduction
Introduction
Reproductive health is really a description of a whole society, not just of any one person — a society whose people have physically and functionally normal reproductive organs. Healthy people go on to have healthier babies, are better able to care for their own families, and in turn contribute more to their wider community, which is exactly why reproductive health is treated as a community-wide issue rather than a purely private one. Because the reproductive system itself is governed by the neuro-endocrine system, it needs deliberate protection — real steps to guard it from infectious disease and injury, not something left to chance.
