In economics, Wealth refers to all goods and assets that have economic value. A thing is wealth only if it possesses three characteristics together: utility (the power to satisfy a want), scarcity (limited supply relative to demand), and transferability (it can be exchanged or transferred for money). Examples include land, buildings, machinery, stocks of goods and money. Free goods such as air and sunshine are not wealth because they are not scarce.
