The female reproductive tract: ovaries → fallopian tubes (with fimbriae/infundibulum) → uterus → cervix → vagina, to be drawn and labelled.

Concept: The female reproductive system produces ova, receives sperm, and provides the site for fertilisation and development of the foetus.

Parts to draw and label (a line diagram):

  1. Ovaries (a pair): almond-shaped organs on either side of the lower abdomen; produce ova and female hormones (estrogen, progesterone).
  2. Fimbriae: finger-like projections at the funnel end of the oviduct that pick up the released ovum.
  3. Infundibulum: the funnel-shaped opening of the oviduct bearing the fimbriae.
  4. Fallopian tube / Oviduct: carries the ovum toward the uterus; the site of fertilisation (in the ampulla).
  5. Uterus (womb): the pear-shaped muscular organ where the embryo implants and develops; its inner lining is the endometrium (also label the muscular myometrium).
