Anther is the male, pollen-producing organ; ovule is the female, egg-bearing structure that becomes the seed.

Concept. In a flower, the stamen (androecium) is the male reproductive part and the pistil/carpel (gynoecium) is the female part. The anther is part of the stamen and the ovule lies inside the ovary of the pistil.
