Photoelectric emission follows four experimentally observed laws about intensity, frequency, threshold, and time lag.

Laws of photoelectric emission:

  1. For a given metal and frequency of incident radiation (above the threshold frequency), the photoelectric current (number of photoelectrons emitted per second) is directly proportional to the intensity of the incident light.
