Male structure. The male reproductive parts are microsporophylls, gathered together into a compact male cone. Each microsporophyll bears numerous microsporangia on its lower surface, and these produce microspores, which mature into pollen grains.

The female reproductive parts are megasporophylls -- in Cycas, these are leaf-like structures, each bearing several ovules along its margins (rather than being tightly compacted into a cone the way the male structure is).
