The structure shifts toward share capital and fixed assets, away from reserves and inventories.
Concept
A common size balance sheet (vertical analysis) restates every item as a percentage of the balance-sheet total, so companies of different sizes — or the same company in different years — can be compared on structure rather than absolute rupees. Each year uses its own total as the 100% base.
Working Note
For 2016 the base is ₹27,00,000 and for 2017 it is ₹35,00,000. For example, share capital in 2016 = 15,00,000 ÷ 27,00,000 × 100 = 55.56%; in 2017 = 20,00,000 ÷ 35,00,000 × 100 = 57.14%. (Both sides of the sheet balance, so each side's percentages total 100%.)
