Adaptive physical education is PE modified — in activities, rules, equipment and environment — so that every child, including those with special needs, can participate safely and successfully.

In my own words, adaptive physical education is a form of physical education in which the activities, games, rules, equipment and surroundings are changed and adjusted to suit the abilities, interests and limitations of children who cannot safely or successfully take part in the ordinary programme.
