Using total work in person-days and splitting it between the 25-day full-strength phase and the remaining 60-person phase (to a 50-day total) shows the 40 workers left after 25 days.

Total work (in person-days) == number of workers ×\times planned days. If the workforce changes partway through, total work == (workers before change ×\times days before change) ++ (workers after change ×\times days after change).

Given: 100100 persons planned to finish in 4040 days; after xx days, 4040 persons leave (leaving 6060); the project is delayed by 1010 days, so it actually finishes in 40+10=5040+10=50 days.
