My reasons for studying Economics
- To understand choice under scarcity — how individuals, firms and the government decide what to produce, how to produce it and for whom, given limited resources.
- To understand how the economy works — production, distribution and consumption of goods and services, and how these are linked.

- To understand everyday economic issues — why prices rise (inflation), what causes unemployment or poverty, why incomes differ.
- To read and use data — to interpret statistics on income, prices and growth, and thus take informed decisions and judge government policies as a citizen.
- For future studies and careers — Economics underpins business, finance, planning and public policy. …
