Contents of Amendments made so far

Looking at the content of India's amendments so far, they broadly fall into a few groups. One large group consists of amendments that are technical or administrative in nature — they only clarify, explain or make minor modifications to the original provisions, without making any substantial difference to what the Constitution actually says. For example, the 15th Amendment simply raised the retirement age of High Court judges from 60 to 62 years, and the 54th Amendment raised the salaries of judges of the High Courts and the Supreme Court — neither changed the underlying scheme of the Constitution. …
