Second, they are hubs of skilled labour and higher education, which naturally attracts knowledge-intensive service industries like IT, consulting, and research. Third, dense urban populations create enormous demand for consumer services — from domestic help to entertainment to healthcare. Fourth, infrastructure — airports, ports, communication networks — makes these cities natural centres for trade, logistics, and international business services.
