Working Notes

  • Applications 1,50,000: 30,000 rejected (refund 30,000×₹2 = ₹60,000); 1,20,000 applicants allotted 1,00,000 → ratio 6 : 5.
  • Excess application of allottees = (1,20,000−1,00,000)×₹2 = ₹40,000 → adjusted to allotment.
  • Sarthak allotted 2,000 → applied 2,000×6/5 = 2,400; app paid ₹4,800; app due ₹4,000; excess ₹800 to allotment; allotment due ₹6,000 − ₹800 = ₹5,200 unpaid.
  • Allotment received = ₹2,60,000 net due − ₹5,200 = ₹2,54,800.
  • Forfeiture: called-up ₹5/share × 2,000 = ₹10,000 = Calls-in-Arrears ₹5,200 + Share Forfeiture ₹4,800.
  • First call 98,000 × ₹3 = ₹2,94,000, fully received.
