Concept

The Gaining Ratio is the ratio in which the continuing partners acquire the retiring partner's share: Gain = New Share − Old Share. When the continuing partners do not state a new ratio, they are assumed to continue in their old mutual ratio, so the gaining ratio equals the ratio of their old shares.
