JTM Ltd. followed the Societal Marketing Concept (it satisfied customers' needs and wants while offering eco-friendly, socially responsible products), and through branding it gained product differentiation, brand loyalty, premium pricing and status-symbol value.

(i) Marketing Management Philosophy Followed by JTM Ltd.

JTM Ltd. launched 'Buddyline' only 'after identifying the target market and understanding the needs and wants of the consumers of that market' — a clearly customer-oriented starting point. But it did not stop at customer satisfaction: its products were deliberately 'good quality and eco-friendly'. Caring for the environment and the long-term welfare of society, over and above satisfying customer wants and earning profit, is exactly what distinguishes the Societal Marketing Concept from the ordinary marketing concept.

A brand converts mere awareness into assured, repeat sales. …
