REPORT OF THE REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION COMMITTEE

Celebration of the 73rd Republic Day of India

Organisation: Shree Saraswati Higher Secondary School, Bhavnagar

Date of Report: 28th January, 2022

1. Introduction / Appointment of the Committee

A committee was appointed by the management to plan and organise the celebration of the 73rd Republic Day of our country on 26th January, 2022. The committee consisted of the following members:

  • Shri A. R. Trivedi (Vice-Principal) — Chairman
  • Smt. K. M. Shah (Teacher) — Convener/Secretary
  • Shri P. J. Patel (Teacher) — Member
  • Km. R. D. Vyas (Student Head-Girl) — Member
  • Shri M. K. Rao (Head Clerk) — Member

2. Arrangements Made

The committee met on 20th January, 2022 and made the following arrangements: cleaning and decoration of the school ground and stage, arrangement for the flag-hoisting and the national anthem, invitation to the chief guest and parents, a cultural programme by students, a public-address system, seating, drinking water and first-aid, and distribution of sweets.

3. The Programme Conducted (26th January, 2022)

  • The programme began at 8:00 a.m. with the flag-hoisting by the Chief Guest, Shri D. B. Chauhan (retired District Education Officer), followed by the National Anthem.
  • The Chief Guest addressed the gathering on the importance of the Constitution and the duties of citizens.
  • Students presented a cultural programme — patriotic songs, a group dance, a speech competition and a short skit on national unity.
  • Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks, distribution of sweets and the closing at about 10:30 a.m.

4. Outcome / Attendance

The celebration was conducted in a well-disciplined and enthusiastic manner. About 600 students, all staff members and around 150 parents and guests attended. The programme created a spirit of patriotism and unity among the students, and was appreciated by all present.
