Cortisol is a glucocorticoid secreted by the zona fasciculata of the adrenal cortex; epinephrine and nor-epinephrine are catecholamines from the adrenal medulla, and aldosterone is a mineralocorticoid.

The adrenal cortex secretes corticoids that are divided into glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids.
