Doubling both masses and doubling the distance leaves the gravitational force exactly the same, F' = F.

By Newton's law of gravitation, the force between two masses m1 and m2 separated by distance r is:

F = G m1 m2 / r^2

Now let the new masses be m1' = 2m1, m2' = 2m2, and the new distance be r' = 2r. The new force is:

F' = G (2 m1)(2 m2) / (2r)^2 = G (4 m1 m2) / (4 r^2) = G m1 m2 / r^2 = F
