Molar conductance is the conductance of a solution containing one mole of electrolyte between electrodes 1 m apart; Λm=K/C\Lambda_m = K/C.

Definition: Molar conductance (Λm\Lambda_m) is the conductance of all the ions produced by one mole of an electrolyte when dissolved in a solution, i.e. the conductance of the volume of solution containing one mole of electrolyte placed between two electrodes one metre apart.

Relation to conductivity and concentration:

Λm=KC\Lambda_m = \frac{K}{C}

where KK is the conductivity (specific conductance) in S m−1\text{S m}^{-1} and CC is the molar concentration in mol m−3\text{mol m}^{-3}. This gives Λm\Lambda_m in SI units of S m2 mol−1\text{S m}^2\,\text{mol}^{-1}. …
