Magnetization = net magnetic moment per unit volume; Magnetic permeability = ratio of magnetic field BB in a material to the magnetizing field HH (μ=B/H\mu = B/H); Magnetic susceptibility = ratio of magnetization to magnetizing field (χ=M/H\chi = M/H).

a) Magnetization (MM):

The magnetization of a material is defined as the net magnetic dipole moment per unit volume.

M=mnetVM = \frac{m_{net}}{V}

It is a vector quantity with SI unit ampere per metre (A m−1\text{A m}^{-1}).

b) Magnetic permeability (μ\mu):

Magnetic permeability of a medium is the ratio of the magnetic field BB inside the material to the magnetizing field intensity HH.

μ=BH\mu = \frac{B}{H}

It measures the degree to which a material can be magnetized / how easily magnetic field lines pass through it. SI unit: T m A−1\text{T m A}^{-1} (or H m−1\text{H m}^{-1}). The relative permeability is μr=μ/μ0\mu_r = \mu/\mu_0.

c) Magnetic susceptibility (χ\chi): …
