Mean = Σfm/N = 1650/50 = 33; Median = 30 + [(25−19)/15]×10 = 34; Mode = 30 + [(15−10)/(30−10−10)]×10 = 35.

This is a continuous frequency distribution from the Kerala Plus One (DHSE) Statistics for Economics chapter 'Measures of Central Tendency'. N = 4 + 5 + 10 + 15 + 10 + 6 = 50.

Step 1 — Table with midpoints (m), fm and cumulative frequency (cf):

ClassfMidpoint mfmcf
0 – 1045204
10 – 20515759
20 – 30102525019
30 – 40153552534
40 – 50104545044
50 – 6065533050
Total50Σfm = 1650

Step 2 — Arithmetic Mean:

Mean = Σfm / N = 1650 / 50 = 33.

Step 3 — Median: N/2 = 25. The cf just exceeds 25 at the class 30–40 (cf jumps 19 → 34), so median class = 30–40, with L = 30, cf (of preceding class) = 19, f = 15, h = 10.

Median = L + [(N/2 − cf)/f] × h = 30 + [(25 − 19)/15] × 10 = 30 + (6/15) × 10 = 30 + 4 = 34.
