Consider the reaction

2H2O2(g)⟶2 H2O(l)+O2(g)\mathrm{2H_2O_2(g) \longrightarrow 2\,H_2O({\it l}) + O_2(g)}

If the rate of the reaction is proportional to the concentration of H2O2\mathrm{H_2O_2}, the rate law is given by

rate=k [H2O2]\text{rate} = k\,\mathrm{[H_2O_2]} …
