Spin each egg on a table: the hard-boiled egg (rigid) spins steadily and stops dead when touched; the raw egg (liquid inside) wobbles, spins less steadily, and starts up again after being briefly stopped, because its internal fluid keeps moving.

A hard-boiled egg has a solid interior, so the whole egg — shell and contents together — behaves as a single rigid body. Every particle inside it maintains a fixed distance from every other particle, so when it is set spinning, it spins about a fixed axis smoothly and steadily, exactly like any rigid body under a torque. The moment you touch the shell to stop it, the entire body (having no internal moving parts) stops immediately, because there is no leftover internal motion to keep it going.
