One of NSIC's central functions is the Single Point Registration Scheme, under which eligible small enterprises are registered so that they can participate in government purchase and tender programmes. Government departments and public sector undertakings are significant buyers of goods and services, and this registration gives small enterprises a structured route to compete for that demand rather than being excluded from it by lack of scale or lack of an existing relationship with the buyer.
A second major function is raw material assistance, through which NSIC helps small enterprises procure raw materials on reasonable terms — useful for units that would otherwise face higher costs or less reliable supply when buying materials independently and in smaller quantities than large manufacturers. …
