Under perfect competition, the market price is fixed at Rs 10 per unit. Since every unit sells at the same price, Average Revenue (AR) equals price, Marginal Revenue (MR) equals price, and Total Revenue (TR) is simply price × quantity. The completed table shows TR rising by Rs 10 each time, with MR and AR constant at Rs 10.

The key to this question is understanding the market structure. The problem states that the market price of each unit is fixed at Rs 10. This is the hallmark of a perfectly competitive market — the firm is a price taker. It can sell any quantity it wants at that price, but cannot influence the price by changing its own output.

Because the price is constant, every additional unit sold adds exactly the same amount to total revenue. That amount is the price itself. This gives us two crucial identities:

AR=TRQ=PAR = \frac{TR}{Q} = P

MR=ΔTRΔQ=PMR = \frac{\Delta TR}{\Delta Q} = P

In perfect competition, AR and MR are both equal to the constant market price. The AR curve is a horizontal line at that price, and the MR curve coincides with it.

Now let’s fill the table step by step.

Total Revenue (TR) is the simplest: TR = Price × Quantity. Since Price = Rs 10, TR for any quantity Q is just 10 × Q.

  • When Q = 0, TR = 10 × 0 = Rs 0.
  • When Q = 1, TR = 10 × 1 = Rs 10.
  • When Q = 2, TR = 10 × 2 = Rs 20.
  • When Q = 3, TR = 10 × 3 = Rs 30.
  • When Q = 4, TR = 10 × 4 = Rs 40.
  • When Q = 5, TR = 10 × 5 = Rs 50.
  • When Q = 6, TR = 10 × 6 = Rs 60.

Average Revenue (AR) is TR divided by Q. For any positive Q, AR = (10 × Q) / Q = Rs 10. For Q = 0, AR is not defined (division by zero), so we leave it blank. …
