A) The dissolution of a gas in a liquid is an exothermic process (heat is released, ΔH < 0), because gas molecules lose kinetic energy and form weak intermolecular attractions with the solvent when they go into solution. According to Le Chatelier's principle, increasing the temperature of an equilibrium (gas ⇌ dissolved gas) favours the endothermic direction — here, that is the reverse process of the gas escaping out of solution. In addition, at higher temperature dissolved gas molecules gain more kinetic energy and can more easily overcome the intermolecular forces holding them in solution and escape.
