Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is defined as the total market value of all final goods and services produced within the domestic territory of a country during a given period of time, usually one year. It measures only final goods and services (to avoid double-counting the value of intermediate inputs) and only output produced within the country's own borders, regardless of whether the producers are residents or foreigners.
