Inflorescence

An inflorescence is the specific, often genetically fixed pattern in which a plant's flowers are grouped together on a branched or unbranched floral axis. It is different from a bouquet, which is simply flowers gathered together by human preference. Grouping many flowers into one inflorescence makes them collectively easier for pollinators to notice, improves the efficiency of pollination, helps in seed dispersal, and conserves the energy a plant would otherwise spend attracting pollinators to isolated single flowers.
