Avogadro's Law (Avogadro's hypothesis) states that equal volumes of all gases, at the same temperature and pressure, contain equal numbers of moles (or molecules). This means volume and moles vary in direct proportion when T and P are held fixed:
V ∝ n (at constant T and P)
which can be written as:
V / n = constant
or, comparing two states of the same gas (or different gases) at the same T and P:
V1 / n1 = V2 / n2
