With three points and no other information, the general form x2+y2+2gx+2fy+c=0x^2+y^2+2gx+2fy+c=0 gives three linear equations in g,f,cg,f,c.

Step 1. Substitute each point.

(1,0)(1,0): 1+2g+c=01+2g+c=0 … (i)

(−1,0)(-1,0): 1−2g+c=01-2g+c=0 … (ii)

(0,1)(0,1): 1+2f+c=01+2f+c=0 … (iii)

Step 2. Add (i) and (ii) to eliminate gg.

2+2c=0⇒c=−12+2c=0 \Rightarrow c=-1.

Step 3. Back-substitute into (i).

1+2g−1=0⇒2g=0⇒g=01+2g-1=0 \Rightarrow 2g=0 \Rightarrow g=0.

Step 4. Back-substitute into (iii). …
