ICT CORNER
The unit's ICT Corner activity, titled "Communication systems" with the topic Amplitude Modulation, is a short hands-on demonstration meant to make the abstract idea of AM concrete and visual. Students are directed to open a web browser and navigate to academo.org's dedicated Amplitude Modulation demo, either through the site's own Physics -> Waves -> Amplitude Modulation menu path or directly at academo.org/demos/amplitude-modulation/. The activity has three steps: first, adjust the carrier wave's frequency (for example trying Hz, then 200 Hz) and observe how the resulting modulated wave changes on screen; second, adjust the signal (baseband) wave's frequency (for example trying Hz, then 20 Hz) and again observe the effect on the modulated wave; and third, adjust the amplitude of the signal wave itself and observe how the modulated wave's envelope changes in direct accordance with the intensity of that signal. The activity's own note reminds students that they can log in with an email address if they want to save their project online, and that the pictures shown in the printed instructions are only indicative of what the live simulation looks like. This directly reinforces, through live …
