- The androecium (whorl of stamens) — the male reproductive part, which produces pollen grains.
- The gynoecium (pistil/carpel) — the female reproductive part, which contains the ovary, style and stigma, and produces the egg.
Because both sexes are present together, such flowers can, in principle, self-pollinate (though many bisexual flowers have mechanisms to promote cross-pollination instead).
